Diamonds are forever |
|
|
|
A
super 8 loop of a white square is projected over an image of a ìchoc topî
ice cream painted on the gallery wall, creating the illusion of the painted
image itself being projected. Diamonds are forever is about the consistent
attraction and hearty consumption of the 20th century to cinematic entertainment.
The ice cream is emblematic of mass produced sentiment of popular cinema.
The luminous painted image gives the illusion of being projected whereas
the projector itself is redundant; a visual pun underlining the vacuous
character of popular cinema. |
