This piece consists simply of a jug of water, maintained by a hot plate at boiling point. The expressive power of the boiling water is in sharp contrast to the minimal and domestic nature of the jug. The constantly simmering water suggests a persistent continuation, subverting the audience's sense of domestic responsibility. The act of consumption is denied by the absence of a responsible party. |
